Hi everyone,

Just wandering if anyone has any advice, I am on 15mg predisnolone daily along with my other meds and in the last 2 weeks have had a very distended abdomen where I look pregnant, this in itself I can put up with but in the last week have been experiencing very severe pain in my upper abdomen and today has got very bad, id this just a side effect of the steroids or something to worry about?

Any help would be appreciated

Thank you

Steroids can cause gastric upset and it sounds like you have gastritis. Get to your GP pronto and get some lanzoprazole or similar to take care of it. You might also need a top up such as Peptac for any episodes during the day / night.

Edit: Steroids are also responsible for abdominal bloating, as well as 'round face.' Just google 'steroids and bloating' for hours of reading material! :)

I'm on 15mgs and have the same problems. Some days its more "sore" than other days. I was prescribed Lansoprazole to reduce stomach acid which has helped.
